Livingston Khalisa- Empowering the Future

Livingston Khalisa is a student at Komboni College pursuing a plumbing course. Through the support of Wezesha and his parents, he is gaining practical skills that allow him to support himself during his studies while preparing for a successful future. Khalisa embodies resilience and initiative, using every opportunity to build a strong foundation for life beyond college.

Scholarship Applicants

Through our scholarship support, Wezesha walks alongside tutors who aspire to pursue higher education. We connect them with opportunities from a network of partner organizations and guide them in the application process.

By sharing their personal stories and experiences, tutors not only highlight their need but also inspire others to invest in their futures. Their time at Wezesha equips them with valuable skills and experience, strengthening their journey toward further learning and leadership.

Cynthia Nafula — Rising Leader

Raised by a single mother in Kasarani, Naivasha, Cynthia faced financial struggles yet emerged as a top student and a determined leader. Through Wezesha, she found a platform to tutor and mentor younger students, lead Bible study sessions, and develop projects that uplift her peers.

Her passion for supporting girls led her to co-launch a sanitary pad initiative that ensures girls stay in school with dignity, while her involvement in employability training helps local youth build confidence and job readiness.

With Wezesha’s guidance and community, Cynthia has grown into a role model—turning her personal challenges into a force for transformation. She now dreams of pursuing Entrepreneurial Leadership to create jobs, build businesses, and invest back into rural education.

Ebenezer Wangari — From Struggle to Service

Ebenezer Wangari, 21, turned personal hardship into service. After losing her father and pausing university due to finances, she chose to give back—volunteering as a team doctor at TAFA and later joining Wezesha as a tutor and youth mentor.

At Wezesha, Ebenezer teaches English and science to Grades 5–9, leads a weekly Bible study, and supports a Teen Mothers program that offers emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual care. She also launched a girls’ hygiene initiative to improve dignity and school attendance.

Ebenezer is growing as a leader while creating ripple-effects of impact—helping learners read, write, and thrive, and inspiring families. She now aims to study at African Leadership University and bring back advanced skills to serve her community.

Japheth Waweru — Youth Innovator

Japheth Waweru is an aspiring computer scientist and community innovator from Sanctuary, near Lake Naivasha. Despite facing financial and educational challenges, Japheth has built small businesses, led mental health campaigns, and organized the first youth hackathon in Kasarani to tackle water and environmental issues.

Passionate about mentorship and empowering others, he combines leadership, innovation, and service to create meaningful change in his community.
