From Conflict to Compassion

When CA joined Wezesha in April 2024, he was known more for his temper than his test scores. His grades hovered at a C-minus, and he struggled with anger—often fighting and bullying his younger brother. But over the past year, something shifted. With the help of caring mentors, consistent support, and a safe space to grow, CA has undergone a transformation that’s nothing short of remarkable.

Today, he’s a top student in his class, earning an A-minus and leading in Biology and Mathematics. He used to focus only on the subjects he liked—but now, he’s committed to improving across the board. More importantly, he’s learning to pause, reflect, and approach people with understanding rather than frustration. The change, he says, began with counselling conversations that taught him how to see from someone else’s perspective.

Wezesha has become more than a place to study—it’s where CA learned who he wants to be. His father’s encouragement and the steady presence of counsellors like Faith and Sarah gave him the space to grow into someone his younger brother can look up to. “Wezesha has been a blessing from God,” he says, not just for his grades, but for his character.

CA now dreams of becoming a doctor, not just to treat patients, but to be someone who brings healing to his community. He sees the cycles of violence in Kasarani and wants to offer another path—one of compassion, peace, and purpose. It’s a future he’s working toward every day, one decision at a time.
